A Living Tradition: Heavy Horses in Action
On Thursday the 30th of March the heavy horses, Beano and William, along with their handlers brothers Will and Alex, returned to Fingle Woods. The horses will be extracting timber, felled over the winter, to help improve habitat in an area being surveyed for Marsh Tits, a woodland species which is in severe decline.They will be here until this Thursday (the 6th of April). To meet the horses and see the work in progress just follow the riverside track from Fingle Bridge heading east towards Clifford Bridge and stop by for a chat.
