Fingle Lecture Series 2020: February, March and April
Join us for another season of walks and talks.
Throughout 2020 we’re offering another series of lectures about Fingle’s fascinating wildlife, history and restoration. Below is a little taster of the first three talks, so you can pop the dates in your diary. The first talk of the year is next Thursday (the 6th of February) where Dave Rickwood (Project Manager at Fingle) and local photographer Paul Moody will do a photographic round up of 2019 in Fingle Woods, we hope to see you there!

Thursday 6th February, 7pm at the Fingle Bridge InnDave Rickwood and Paul Moody are back by popular demand with a photographic round up of 2019 in Fingle Woods. With evocative images and interesting anecdotes this promises to be a great way to start this year's Fingle lectures.
Can I eat my cake and have it?
Thursday 5th March, 7pm at the Fingle Bridge InnTom Wood, Area Ranger on Dartmoor, was lucky enough to be awarded a National Trust Ranger Travel Bursary last year which enabled him to go to Canada to learn more about his favourite subject – trees. He will talk about his trip and what learning he has brought back to Fingle.
Dormouse Habitat Links
Thursday 2nd April, 7pm at the Fingle Bridge InnA new research project at Fingle Woods is studying how a large area of woodland is recovering after the enforced felling of diseased larch trees. Matt Parkins will describe how habitat management work at Fingle Woods is supporting the endangered dormouse and how this research adds to our knowledge of this endearing woodland mammal.
