Track Closure - extension

Please note – the temporary track closure is being extended by 10 days for your safety.

Unfortunately, the Fingle Woods management team has had to extend the track closure alongside the river Teign in Fingle Woods due to poor weather and difficult working conditions. The closure has been extended for 10 more days, until the end of January. Visitor safety is of utmost importance as the forestry work is in progress is taking place on the perilous steep slope above the track. As Dave Rickwood, the site manager explained, 'even in normal circumstances, working on steep slopes can present risks but the steep ground, combined with recent wet and windy weather is increasingly hazardous and is slowing down the work.' While we apologise for any inconvenience, please take notice of the signs as they are there for your safety. Thank you for your cooperation.
